New research shows that young people in America are becoming less interested in Maths and Science these days.Many American companies have difficulty in finding suitable people that are good at Maths and Science.So one of the companies,Raytheon,has worked with Walt Disney to design a new project to solve this problem.They spent nearly 2 years designing a new project called “The Sum of All Thrills”.
Visitors that go to experience the new project can use their Maths knowledge to design their own roller coasters.“The Sum of All Thrills” is like a laboratory.Visitors are led to the front of a special computer and told to let their imagination run free.
Disney hopes that the new project can help middle school students to learn that Maths and Science can be really fun.“I think it is really good for students to know that Maths does not control2 them.They get to control Maths,” said Bill Swanson,chief executive of Raytheon.
The Raytheon company said that it supported this project to help middle school students to be more interested in jobs in Maths and Science.
