What is behind the symbols of American civilization? Americans 1. their reputation for doing good deeds. They talk a lot about how values like loyalty and honesty are a(n) 2. part of an American's life. They talk about how they got everything they have by simply 3. more effort. Don't believe a word of it! I'll tell you what is 4. American. It is taking credit for what others have done for you and acting without 5. for others.
