involve completely new initiatives,such as the setting up of a regular customer or employee survey.
The use of performance measures is split into two main subdivisions.First,as the measures are derived from strategy,the initial use to which they should be put is that of measuring the success of the implementation of that strategy.Second,the information and feedback from the measures should be used to challenge the assumptions and test the validity of the strategy .In fact,authors have argued that they should be used for both purposes .Therefore,``assessing the implementation of strategy'' and ``challenging the strategic assumptions'' are the two main subdivisions of the use of the performance measures.
