Photoelectric type,which detects both early and late sheets.This type of detector consists of two photocells,one to detect early sheets and one to detect late sheets.Each photocell is paired with a lamp that does not shine on the photocell.If the front guides are up,an early sheet reflects light from the lamp of the “early detector” to its photocell,stopping press rotation and feeder operation.If the front guides are down and the sheet is late,no light reflects from the lamp of the “late detector” to its photocell,stopping feeding action.The operation of each photocell is timed to the position of the front guides.To operate properly,the photocells must be kept clean.
